The competition version of the road-going Lancia Delta HF 4WD is one of the most iconic rally cars ever produced. Developed during the second half of the 1980s, the Lancia Delta HF achieved remarkable success in the World Rally Championship, winning two world titles between 1987 and 1988 and securing victories in prestigious events such as the Rallye Monte-Carlo and Rallye Sanremo.

Its successor, the legendary Lancia Delta Integrale, continued this success story through 1993, capturing an additional five World Rally Championship titles and cementing Lancia's reputation as one of the most successful manufacturers in rallying history.

In 1988 and 1989, the Lancia Delta achieved major victories in the demanding Safari Rally, one of the toughest and most legendary motorsport events in the world. To withstand the extreme conditions of the African stages, the vehicle was specially prepared with reinforced suspension, upgraded shock absorbers, and numerous protective components. These modifications enabled the Delta to excel on some of the most challenging rally routes ever contested.
